The Disney Wish, one of the newest additions to the Disney Cruise Line fleet, is nothing short of magical. With its modern design and the enchanting theme of “Enchantment”, this Disney Cruise ship brings the world of Disney Princesses to life in a sophisticated and elegant way. The ship is filled with surprises and memorable experiences, but one of the most important aspects of any Cruise is your Disney Cruise stateroom—your home at sea!
In this guide, I’ll take you through my personal experience staying in a Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah on the Disney Wish. Whether you’re new to cruising or planning your next Disney adventure, this article will give you an in-depth look at what makes Disney Cruise ship staterooms so special, especially on the new Disney ship, the Wish.
And here’s an added bonus: The Disney Treasure and the Disney Destiny (coming in 2025) will feature the same room layouts, making this guide just as helpful for those ships!

A Look Inside the Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah

We stayed in Cabin #8628, part of the Category 04B Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah. These rooms are thoughtfully designed to accommodate families of 3–5 people, making them ideal for guests traveling with children or groups.

The Queen Bed
At the heart of the room is a queen-size bed, perfect for relaxing after a day of Disney fun. The mattress was surprisingly comfortable—just the right mix of softness and support. Even with the gentle rocking of the ship, I had no trouble falling asleep.
On either side of the bed, you’ll find small shelves and reading lamps, making it easy to keep your phone or books close by. One standout feature is the under-bed storage, which is perfect for sliding in suitcases to keep the room tidy and spacious.

Sofabed and Pull-Down Bunk
If you’re traveling with kids, you’ll love the additional sleeping options. The sofa transforms into a single bed, and an extra pull-down bed magically appears from the ceiling. This bunk bed is a big hit with kids—it’s like their own little hideaway!
The stateroom attendants handle all the setup and takedown of these beds, so you can enjoy the space during the day without lifting a finger.
The TV: Perfectly Positioned
One of the biggest upgrades on the Disney Wish staterooms compared to older Disney Cruise Line rooms is the placement of the TV. It’s mounted directly in front of the bed, making it easy to relax and watch a Disney movie or catch up on onboard announcements. This is a small but impactful detail that adds to the comfort of the room.
Smart Storage Solutions in Disney Cruise Line Rooms
Space is at a premium on a cruise ship, and Disney Cruise Ship rooms make every inch count with clever storage solutions.

Disney Wish Stateroom Closet
The closet in the stateroom provides plenty of space to hang clothes, with additional shelving for smaller items. You’ll also find a safe for valuables and life jackets for each guest.

Unique Storage Spaces in Disney Wish Rooms
One of the unique features of Disney Wish staterooms is the additional corner shelving at the end of the closet. These small shelves are perfect for stashing hats, sunglasses, and other accessories you want easy access.

Closer Look at the Desk in Disney Wish Staterooms
Every stateroom on the Disney Wish comes with a desk and chair, plus a large mirror above—perfect for getting ready or keeping things organized. The desk has several drawers, and the deeper ones are roomy enough to store folded clothes or other items you want to tuck away.

The shallow top drawer is especially useful. Inside, you’ll find handy items like stationery, a pen, a notepad, and the room service menu—great for jotting down plans or ordering a snack whenever you’re in the mood.

You’ll also find a heat-resistant mat in the drawer for safely using or storing a hair dryer or flat iron. Just a quick heads-up: the ship’s outlets and voltage are different from what you’d find in the U.S., so it’s best to stick with the provided hair dryer instead of bringing your own.
With all these smart storage features, it’s super easy to keep your stateroom tidy and make the most of your space while you enjoy your cruise!

A Mini-Fridge
Under the desk, you’ll find a mini-fridge—a handy feature for storing drinks or snacks from room service. Whether you’re saving a dessert for later or keeping water bottles chilled, this little fridge is a game changer.
The Bathroom: Split for Convenience
One of the signature features of Disney Cruise Line rooms is the split bathroom layout, and the Disney Wish is no exception.

Disney Wish Stateroom Shower: Perfect for Families with Kids
The shower room includes a bathtub, which is a great option for families with young kids. Disney’s signature shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are provided in refillable dispensers, and the towels are embroidered with the Disney Cruise Line logo—a cute and memorable touch.

Smart Design: The Toilet Space in Disney Wish Staterooms
The toilet room is compact; however, it is thoughtfully designed with small shelves for toiletries, which makes it both functional and easy to use.
For families, this setup is incredibly convenient. While one person showers, another can get ready without waiting.
The Verandah: A Room with a View

If you’ve ever wondered if a verandah is worth it, let me tell you—it absolutely is. Stepping out onto your private verandah and taking in the ocean views like Castaway Cay is a magical experience.
We loved having breakfast on the verandah, watching the sunrise over the horizon, and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere. The verandah doors also feature a lock at the top, so parents can relax knowing their little ones won’t wander outside unsupervised.
Final Thoughts: What Makes Disney Wish Staterooms Stand Out
The Disney Wish staterooms are more than just a place to sleep—they’re designed to make your cruise experience comfortable and stress-free. With cozy beds, smart storage options, and thoughtful touches like the pull-down bed with Disney artwork, the rooms have everything you need to enjoy your time on board.
If you’re planning a cruise on the Disney Treasure or Disney Destiny, you can expect similar stateroom designs, so this guide will be just as useful for those ships.
Staying in the Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah was a great experience for us. The space felt functional and family-friendly, and waking up to ocean views was such a nice way to start each day. Disney has clearly put a lot of thought into these rooms, and it shows in the little details.
I hope this review helps you get a better idea of what to expect and makes planning your Disney cruise a little easier. Whether it’s your first cruise or you’ve been on several, the Disney Wish offers a comfortable, family-friendly stateroom experience that fits perfectly into the overall trip. Enjoy your cruise!
