Why we chose the Hilton Paris Opera hotel
If you’re wondering where to stay in Paris for your first trip, this hotel ticks all the boxes: location, charm, and convenience.
Hilton Paris Opera is located in the heart of the city, just steps from Saint-Lazare train station. That means you’re close to all the attractions, whether you’re heading to the Eiffel Tower, planning a day at Disneyland Paris, or exploring charming Parisian neighborhoods. The area around the hotel is filled with local cafés, bakeries, and major department stores, such as Galeries Lafayette and Primtemps.
Highlights of This Location:
Elegant and Historic Ambience

Originally opened in 1889, Hilton Paris Opera combines classic Parisian architecture with modern elegance.
From its grand chandeliers to the marble-floored lobby, this hotel offers a touch of luxury without feeling too formal. It’s perfect for travelers who want a taste of historic charm while enjoying the perks of a luxury hotel.
Room Features: Compact But Comfortable

We booked two rooms: one with a king bed, the other with twin beds. The rooms weren’t huge (yes, it’s Paris!) but they were spotless and smartly designed. After a long day of sightseeing, it felt so good to come back and relax in a clean, comfy space.
As for the windows, they had those beautiful Parisian-style doors that makes you feel like you’re in a movie. While we didn’t get that picture-perfect Opera House view (thanks to some ongoing construction), we could still enjoy little glimpses of the city. Once the work is done, I’m sure the views will be even more magical!

In-Room Amenities
Each room came equipped with practical touches that made our stay super comfy:

There was also a complimentary water-refill station in the hotel, which we used throughout our stay—super convenient, especially while walking around Paris.
Tip: Bring a reusable water bottle to make it easy to stay hydrated while exploring the city.

Bathrooms: Surprisingly Spacious & Stylish
The bathroom felt bigger than the bedroom! It had a full glass-enclosed shower (no awkward half-door like other hotels), sleek tiles, and plush towels. Honestly, we were impressed. It’s the kind of bathroom that makes you want to light a candle and pretend you’re in a spa.
Breakfast at Hilton Paris Opera: Way Better Than Expected

We’ll admit that we had low expectations for the hotel breakfast. But wow, Hilton Paris Opera’s breakfast really impressed. The buffet looked beautiful and included everything from fresh pastries to hot dishes.

Breakfast at the Hilton Paris Opera totally surprised us in the best way! To start, the croissants were incredibly fresh and buttery, and honestly, we couldn’t help going back for seconds… maybe even thirds.
On top of that, there was a lovely little spread of jams and honey that gave everything a charming, local vibe. And let’s talk about the hot dishes served in these adorable little Staub pots, they looked just as good as they tasted.
Compared to your typical Hilton breakfast in the U.S.? Yeah, not even close!

Executive Lounge at Hilton Paris Opera
Guests staying in Executive Rooms or those with Hilton Honors Diamond status have access to the Executive Lounge at Hilton Paris Opera. It’s a quiet, elegant space that’s perfect for a quick break between sightseeing or a comfortable spot to relax before check-in or after a long day out.

What You Get in the Executive Lounge:
It’s all complimentary, which is a big plus especially in a city like Paris where everything can be pricey. Being able to grab a drink or snack before heading to your room was such a nice perk, especially for families traveling with kids.
How Much Does It Cost to Stay at Hilton Paris Opera?

Final Thoughts: Is Hilton Paris Opera Worth it?

Absolutely. We’ve stayed at Hilton Paris Opera twice, and each visit reminded us why it’s one of our favorite hotels in Paris. The location couldn’t be more convenient for exploring the city, the grand and elegant lobby makes a great first impression, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming.
If you’re still wondering, “Which hotel should I stay at in Paris?” or “What’s the best hotel in Paris for sightseeing and convenience?” This is absolutely one of the best choices.
Oh, and one more thing! Look at the picture above! We still dream about the mille-feuille from the lobby café. Buttery, crispy layers and a perfectly light cream… it was unforgettable. If you get the chance, don’t miss it!
